Institution Incident Summary
This dataset contains aggregate level information on use of force incidents at the institution level. It contains:
- Reporting Year
- Region associated with the correctional institution where the incident occurred
- Correctional institution where the incident occurred
- Total number of incidents that occurred in the reported calendar year
- Total number of inmates identified as a 'participant' in one or more use of force incidents that occurred in the reported calendar year
- Total number of staff identified as a 'participant' in one or more use of force incidents that occurred in the reported calendar year
- Rate of use of force
Note: This dataset may be updated periodically to reflect new submissions, amendments or corrections. For details on data updates and version history, please consult the available metadata such as data dictionary and supporting documentation.

2023 data as of December 15, 2024.
2024 data as of March 5, 2025.
The dataset follows the UTF-8 encoding standard.
