Multiple species inventory and monitoring summaries

This data set summarises the results of multiple species inventory and monitoring efforts conducted across Crown lands managed for commercial forestry in Ontario from 2013 to 2018.

These monitoring efforts provided state and trend information on the presence, relative abundance, and associated habitat conditions of representative wildlife species.

Core survey methods included:

  • camera traps for medium and large mammals
  • acoustic recorders for forest birds and calling amphibians
  • salamander coverboards
  • small mammal live trapping

The data set summarises the proportion of monitoring locations where a species was detected at least once, by:

  • year
  • region
  • sampling method
